Max C Robison
Family was everything to Max. He and Joan reared six children, including many adventures and unique family cars, a family-run ice cream parlor, weekend trips to the cabin with water-skiing, sailboats, and a wonderful Christ-centered family life filled with LDS church activities. He taught his children and exemplified the truth that we are an eternal family.

This was a week of reflection with my grandfather Max passing away. I was named after him and got to spend much of my Jr. High and High School years working for him and helping him around the house and just getting to know my Grandpa better. I will miss the times where we actually were in a little hurry to go and he would say something like, "Look, I know you are in a hurry to go and don't have time for your little old grandpa (as he fake cries), but i'm going to tell you a story anyways. And somehow you could tell, even though his ability to actually smile was never given to him, that he was smiling inside at this point. Maybe it was the twinkle in his eye or something else but after he would do a little drum routine on his lap he'd dive into his story. Stories of sailing on the ocean or of Boats (usually the Chinese Junk) or sometimes about his father. Sometimes about his time in the war or when he met his sweetheart Joan, who he is with now on the other side. And then he would sing us a little song that no one in the last 4 generations has ever heard, and finish by giving us a little money and depending on his mood would either ask us if we'd like a ride on his golf-cart or sometimes if we wanted to go clubbin, always joking. He'd tell us to go get ourselves something nice but to not spend it all at once and then watch us drive away waving the whole time. He was an amazing man and I am so grateful that God gave me the chance to get to know my Grandpa and be his Grandson. I love him so much and I know that he is there, watching over us, pointing us in the right direction, and doing everything he can to help us make it back to him, and back to our heavenly father, so that we can be an eternal family and never have to be separated again. But ultimately ours' is the decision and the journey and it's up to us to do what it takes to make it there. I am grateful for my testimony of our Heavenly Father's plan and the knowledge that he has given me that I will see my grandfather again. That he will be perfect and will be able to smile at me and run to me and give me a big smiling hug. I have felt Grandpa Max close this weekend. When I needed a boost he was there. I know that he's there, that we will see him again.
