Hey Everyone.
This week was great. This area is the best! I cant get over how cool it is. The other day we got a call from a member that lives in the middle of know where in the mtns, She asked us to come help her farm and get the soil ready so she can plant her garden in time for spring. After a 2 hour bus ride through the most beautiful mtns we got to her house and helped her out. It was the best. After she fed us until we exploded and them fed us some more haha. A long the way we met 2 people and they both had interest in the church. Idk but some people think in order to find people you need to be in the city on a street corner forever but if you got the faith, the lord will put the people where you need them to be. "just keep being a good boy and the spirit will do the rest." -elder Bednar. I am convinced that by the Powers of Heaven we can get all that we want and need. Just that pure positive belief can get you so far. Numbers wise this area in the past has been on a downward trend but recently its been nuts. We have found so many new people and have been able to see so many miracles. With every law comes a blessing and as we choose to act in faith the Lord is just gonna provide. "trust the process" as some athletes would say. Trust the Lord. Our most recent baptismal date came from an amazing lesson with a man from Nigeria. His friend is a recent convert and has been pushing him to come to church. Well he came and we were able to meet with him after and teach him about the Book of Mormon and why its something he needs to really ponder and pray about. It went great and by the end of it we were able to assist his friend in performing a blessing on the man. Such a good time to be here!! love you all. Elder Hunsaker

This week was so good. We had a big mission conference last Thursday with the Area President Elder Gay. He is the man. A Real man. My Grandpa always told me that a REAL man is someone who takes care of people. Elder Gay is a great guy and throughout his life has really taken care of people. He gave us good advice on choosing our career and how we will measure our lives. But the thing that hit me most during the conference was when one of the elders asked him how he can help some of his family members that arnt members and how he can help them and his answer was "work as hard as you can to live the gospel and be a good missionary and the Lord will take care of them." The Elder was really emotional and it really just hit home to me that there is always a bigger cause then ourselves and once we find that bigger cause the task is more meaningful and the motivation to get the job done doubles, triples, quadruples. When i teach about goals the first thing i talk about, is the reason why the most important thing when making a goal is asking yourself why you want to do this?. but on the back side of what he said i want to challenge each of you that have some one in your life that you know that needs the Gospel and make a goal to follow the Gospel and do missionary work to the best of your ability. I testify that God will see that and maybe not even in this life but the next those people will find the Gospel and will be blessed because of your efforts. Corinthians 5:14
love you all Hey so this week was great. We found a lot of cool people to start teaching and saw a lot of miricles. Theres not a ton of people up here but the Lord really does put people in our path if we are just will to open our mouths. Last monday i was chosen to give the lesson for Family home evening and it was a really spiritual expierence. We studied John2-4 and i asked all of the guys there how the temple has blessed them in there lives and the responces were so amazing. They all shared really special feelings and blessings they have gotten from the temple and the lesson ended up being super spiritual. I cant help but be so thankful to be able to go to the temple and recieve the blessings of it. It has truly changed my life and i promise it can change yours too. So from this point on make going there your biggest priority and get there.
love you all Elder Hunsaker Serving has changed my life and given me a totally new perspective on people and how to deal with people and change through the service you give to others. When i first came out i thought i just needed to worry about myself to change and stuff but i have really learned that its about serving others first and then you slowly change without knowing it. I also have such a stronger testimony of this gospel. I dont think a semi truck could throw me off of this course and the goals i have set for my future and the gospel. Its hard to say over an email and really let people feel the emotion in my testimony but through all the stuff i have seen and experiences out here i will never let it slip. Jesus is the Christ and God Lives.
So im leaving the land of 중랑. I will be going to a place right by the border of North Korea. Its got a huge american army base and a ton of people from around the world that work at the factories there. Its been a good time here and im sad to leave but I really feel that the Lord has a lot of really cool things in store for me in the next area.
The week was so cool though. On Thursday Alex Boye came to korea and we got permission to go to his concert if we brought an investigator so we had two come with us along with a recent convert and let me tell ya, it was so sick! It felt so weird to actually go to a concert but Alex did a great job and made it a really spiritual experience at the end with his testimony of the Gospel. On Saturday we put on a ping pong tourney at the church and me and my korean grandpa steven went crazy and pulled off 3rd place haha. He is 86 but super super healthy. I will maybe miss him most when i leave. ahh man theres just so many awesome people here its been hard saying goodbye and stuff but i dont think this is the last time ill see them so its bittersweet. I want to give a huge shout out to the AF wrestlers and all the hard work they put in! Its a huge blessing to be apart of that program. They deserve all the success and joy after a hard tough season!! anyway, I love you guys and pray for you. Have the best week. Love Elder Hunsaker ...The olympic spirit it actually here. The korean people really know how to come together and support their athletes. whenever a Korean is competing everyone just stops and watches. soooo cool. Pretty good week. not a ton of time but heres some pics
“A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. “Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
This week was packed. We had a ton of meetings with people and investigators so it went by super fast. Some new things with tech have come to our mission and we have facebook and smart phones to help us spread the Gospel on more of a global level. It was weird at first but we have already done some lessons over face time and its been super successful. Its cool to see the trust the Lord has in us and build good habits with tech that will last a lifetime. I love you all and pray for ya. Have a great week.
Elder Hunsaker So this week was good. Crazy cold a few of the days and i couldnt feel my knees but that just led to some people feeling bad for us and letting us in and giving us free gloves and drinks haha. The Koreans are the best. We had a really good week and found 4 solid people to teach. We met a crazy guy who was super drunk and was so happy to see us he was screaming as loud as he could and gave us huge hugs and was just so happy haha everyone was staring at us but honestly its much needed to meet people like that every once in a while to keep it interesting and fun haha. So yesterday before sacrament i was asked to fill in and give a talk on the spot for someone who didnt come so i was pretty stressed to get something together is the few minutes i had but it went good and i really could feel the spirit guiding me and helping me say what i needed to say. My comp is from iowa and so i talk to him about wrestling and all the history of wrestling in iowa but he just doesnt understand and makes fun of me because i like iowa even tho its got nothing there haha.
love you all and have a great week. Love Elder Hunsaker |
