When a branch is connected to a grape vine it produces a lot of fruit. I am the vine. You are the branches. When you are connected to me you will have lots of fruit. But cut yourself off from me, and you will wither and die. For without me, you can do nothing. John 15:5
The Lamb of God hath overcome and trodden the wine-press alone, even the wine-press of the fierceness of the wrath of Almighty God." D&C 88:106

The divine victim has answered the demands of justice in the Garden of the Press and on Calvary, and he did it alone, and he did it for you and me. This gives him the right to claim those who enter into his covenant, to bring each one of us under his wing and say, "I've paid for this one; this one is mine"—"Father, behold the sufferings and death of him who did no sin, in whom thou wast well pleased; behold the blood of thy Son which was shed, the blood of him whom thou gavest that thyself might be glorified; wherefore, Father, spare these my brethren that believe on my name, that they may come unto me and have everlasting life." D&C 45:4-5
