3/27/22 - Left Saint Petersburg, FL / Destination Destin, FL
Our first long(er) travel day in a while. We started the day with eggs and muffins and then it was time to pack up camp. It was a Sunday morning and the campground was pretty full for the weekend so it seemed like every one else around us were doing the same thing after a weekend camping trip. I put Enzo down for a nap on our bed part way through packing and we finished he was still sleeping. We waited and waited and he slept and slept. Finally I decided to transfer him to his car seat sure he would wake up, but he didn’t! He gave us another couple hours on the road before he woke up. Fitz also slept. We were headed to Destin about 7 hours away. It’s in the Florida panhandle and our last Florida stop before we start the drive back home! Crazy! The scenery definitely changed as we got further and further North. Much more agriculture and then tree lined highways. No more palm trees. For this stretch at least. We made a stop for dinner at a place called Sonny’s which was a mistake. (it ended up being a sit down restaurant which we didn’t |
realize, and slow, so it was stressful with the wiggly kids) we also stopped at a rest stop for a potty break, and then ice cream in Tallahassee. When we got to Destin it was dark and late so we all went right to bed.
