tributes to Mary Amott
Grandma would take me to town to pay her bills. They didn't have a checking account, and then we would go to Kresses Department store for lunch. We would sit at a counter to eat. I loved the food. I would watch Grandma sew on her peddle machine. One day i got so close, my finger got under the needle. There was blood all over the material she was sewing. I also watched her quilt. She would tell me about all the material on the quilt. Like - that was Earl's pants or Eleanor's dress or Larry's shirt etc. Did Margie ever tell you about the money hidden in the furnace air duct they found after Grandma Amott died? Don't know how much. I remember I was never bored. She taught me how to cook. clean house and sew, and many other things. She would tell me the same story over and over, and I always acted like it was the first time i heard it. now i tell my kids that story, when they say you already told me that story a million times. - composed by granddaughter Geri Grant

Fun with Grandma - For Thanksgiving we always went to Grandma and Grandpa Amott’s house. Grandma was the best cook of Thanksgiving turkey, mashed potatoes, dressing, pie, and the rest. I wish I had learned how to make everything she made for Thanksgiving dinner. Everything I’ve ever tried to make since, I’ve always used her as my standard of perfection. I’ve never been able to make apple pie or pie crust to equal Grandmas. She was a wonderful cook. composed by granddaughter Margie Stucki
