tributes to MYRTLE curtis
I enjoy reading what my parents have written about Grandma Curtis. She was ill the entire time I knew her. She was always happy to see me and kept large sweet vitamin C tablets in her pocket to give to her grandchildren. I loved that about her.
Margie "Once she hiked to the top of Mt. Timpanogos with some friends, and that was no small accomplishment. They came down the mountain by sliding on sticks down the glaciers. She was daring! She loved the mountains. She loved horses and riding. I have pictures of her as a teenager wearing riding boots and jodhpurs. She was a good swimmer, too. She liked going out with friends. She would go to Brighton with her girl friends. In her day, a favorite place for young people to go to was Saltair at the Great Salt Lake. That’s where they were going, when she and Dad first met."
Richard "I also admire Myrtle, because even though she must have had blue and discouraging moments, she was always a lovely, happy and pleasant person. I never heard complaints from her. She stayed faithful to her principles, faithful to the Lord, and pleasant in her attitude, in spite of the devastating illness she faced. I love them both, as I love my own parents."
