​She took on and championed everyone’s cause.

​I don't know about THE best thing, because I can't narrow it down to just one.

​She's always been a friend to me as well as my mother (I'm going to miss that association terribly).
Sacrifice. She sacrificed so much for us. As I think about Mom's life and all she did. Of course, I think about the farm and Mom living her dream. We all know how much that meant to her. She gave that all up, without a second thought, when Dad became ill and they had to sell the farm. That has impressed me so much about her! 
I think her greatest 'dream' was her family. I knew her well, and I know that was so...she loved every single one (old goats, sheep and lambs).

​This is easy, because Mom has a lot of best things to we all like:
• Faithful
• Loving
• Inspired
• Talented
• Creative
• Patriotic
• Enduring
But what I would like to focus on is, she is a DREAMER with the courage, determination, and persistence to overcome all obstacles in order to reach her dreams; indeed, if there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, Mom seeks after these things—AND SHE GETS THEM!!!
I love that about Mom.

​Ditto to what Randy has posted. To that list of words, I add a few more words to describe Mom:
• Caring
• a Perfectionist (one of the dominant genes passed on to her children - lol)
• Indomitable (the successful leap from SLC to CV could not have happened without this quality)
• Reliable (Mom's life revolved around her children. She was the anchor, always there when we needed her)
• Passionate (about everything she cares about, especially her family)

Mom is ever present in our lives. We see manifestations of her in our own families, in our likes, our traditions, our memories, and all the things we really hold dear.

​Agreed. I would like to add...

-Beautiful big teethy Curtis smile. I just love this so much about her. Jerry and Mary have the same.

-Remarkable blue eyes. So unusual and beautiful. Especially the last few days 

-Polite and proper. She taught us all to be gentlemen and ladies like her and dad. To the very end she would try to cover her mouth when she coughed, even though she couldn’t lift her arms. She made sure we wiped her chin, avoided spills, and she kept apologizing for gurgles. I’ll tell you what, if roles were reversed and I was all broken up, I don’t think I’d be nearly so proper and put together.  

-Indomitable. Well said, Gregg. I would have said stubborn but I like your word better. That gene also passed down in spades. I’ll just leave it at that, except that I’ve come to realize that stubbornly holding on to a vision, loving people who don’t always deserve it, and enduring pain and challenges and never giving up Is truly one of the best qualities in the world. Other words that describe this quality: determined, committed, a force of nature :)

-Lastly (my favorite) She made things so fun! Road day trips with a basket full of bread and cheese and cookies. Trips to Grand Junction, we’d always get a Wendy’s Frosty’s when we clearly couldn’t afford it. We’d work super hard, but then she’d read us books. So many! Summer of the Monkeys, Sugar Blues, Anne of Green Gables... so many! She’d play games too! Mostly Rook, because she dominated us! Always making the best treats and desserts and yummy food! Omgosh! So many good times brought to us by none other than Margie!
