Letters from Gay

I've been doing some cleaning at Gma's house and constantly get distracted by all of the memories this house holds. I have stumbled upon some great treasures. I found a letter gayward wrote to Vera and thought I would share it with you! This letter shows how much he loved gma and Linda and the joy he found in life. He reminds me so much of Steven! He was silently giving, funny, and service oriented. You are welcome to share it! I typed it up on my phone so it may have some errors.. also I couldn't decipher every word... nevertheless... it's certainly worth reading!

Dear Fat, Well, here we are again. we're having what is called a Santana out here. It's a stiff wind blowing toward the sea from the desert. It's very dry and the grass will have to be watered excessively for a while or it will dry out. You never did tell me what happened to the Eastern Star chapter house that's near you did they lose it? Did those people who committed suicide actually embezzle funds? What about others? Was that a conspiracy? Come on let's have the scoop, you don't tell me anything. How is Jesse. Is she OK? Above all take care of yourself. I noted in the paper the other day that leukemia has been traced to a virus which is transmitted by cats. Stay away from them. Linda is well and happy she is a bundle of energy if I ever saw one. She is on the go constantly. As well as I can determine from her schoolwork she seems to be doing quite well. We will find out soon, since we have an appointment to discuss her work with the teacher fairly soon, we bought her a couple of goldfish. She wants a pet badly and I don't want any. These damn fish are a nuisance, changing water, feeding them etc. they are likely to end up in the sewer. Every morning she asks did you feed my fish? So I have to stop everything and feed the infernal things she's a good kid though so I guess I'll keep her. Elaine is OK., She does seem to have a constant for frequent colds. However this is probably a sinus condition. Still Elaine is a remarkable woman. She never complains. Sometimes she lets off steam when I nag Linda a lot, but all in all she's OK Elaine is a good-looking woman and most of those guys see it too. Our house as you know is the house, that's all. I'm not so sure we should have bought one on a hill but it's too late now one thing for sure your investment is safe with us. You will be paid fully in a little while. Enclosed is $30 for your expenses partially if you decide to come out for Christmas this is not to be counted as a payment on our loan. You don't have to spread all of this around.
