Muriel Elaine Mann Family letter

The family was notified of Elaine's condition in August 2015. This letter summarizes the events of the last couple weeks.
Fam,
I went down to Orem to pick up Gma for dinner (8/9). When I got to her home the front door was still locked, and Ily was meowing at the top of the stairs. I found Gma had fallen in her bathroom and was laying unconscious. I moved her to the bed, but she remained unresponsive. I called mom and told her the situation. While she was coming down to Orem, Steven came over to help. We administered to her and once Mom came we decided to move her to the car and take her to the hospital. The nurses attended to her needs and the doctor examined her. So far she was not responding but breathing. Her temperature was 103. We left without knowing her future until possibly the next morning.
When we came back to the hospital Gma had been moved to a different room. They took her down for an MRI, which gave more detailed information. Gma opened her eyes and sneezed a couple times as she was being wheeled out of the room. We spoke words of love and adoration to her in case she could hear us without being able to respond. Nothing more for a couple hours until the results came back from the MRI. Fortunately, the update was no stroke.
So they eventually moved her to Stone Henge, and she has been there for a week. We visit her every day, and she has improved considerably, but she is still weak. However, she is wanting to come home. She probably will never go back to her home alone. She may come live with us. All this is being worked out right now. If you can visit her, she appreciates your company greatly. She asks about and loves each one of you.
Visit when you can. Call if you can't. Her hearing is failing, unfortunately. We are working on improving her ability to hear with new hearing aids. For those of you that are a long way away, calling may be your only option. We will try to figure something out to improve her ability to hear on the phone.
We will keep you in the loop as the situation changes.
With all our love,
Mom and dad
