We drove to Salt Lake City and found our hotel and valet parking took our car. Checking into our room on the 11th floor of the Little America Tower, there we found rose petals on our bed and the surrounding floor. Fruit, chocolates, dipped strawberries, and wine glasses with Martinellis on ice awaiting us. Two days with my best friend in the world. This was perfect.

We went shopping at the mall with no rush and noted the city was calmer than usual due to the holiday I imagine. Stopping in at West Elm, we ordered some chairs and headed to dinner.

SLC Eatery - Linda checked out the best culinary spots to eat in Salt Lake City. This was our top choice, and it scored high marks. Fun and eclectic.

We were seated and ordered our meal. A host rolled around a little cart with delicious little morsels to choose from, which we couldn't pass up. Soon our appetizer arrived, then the main course.

The Lion House is where Linda and I had our wedding breakfast 34 years ago. We had lunch at the Lion House Pantry with a side of history to celebrate this monumental event.

The Beehive House

We walked across the street to learn a little more about the Grand America afternoon tea event (which Linda is planning to do with the girls in the family) and drove to the This is the Place Monument and began hiking to the living room on Bonneville trail.

Decided to have dinner at Skewered Thai. The meal was delicious and made for a fun evening. Then we returned to our hotel room to watch the Milwaukee and Toronto basketball game series. The Toronto Raptors beat Milwaukee Bucks to seal NBA Finals place against Golden State powerhouse. Finals yet to come.

We wrapped up the night with swimming and jacuzzi at the hotel.

Linda planned a little drive to Shoshone Falls in Twin Falls, Idaho. It was miraculous. Amazed that I never heard of this place.

After Shoshone Falls we took more pictures of the Snake River and Dierkes Lake Park.

Then we drove to Spiral Jetty

Linda and I celebrated our 34th wedding anniversary by spending the weekend in SLC doing all the things we never take the chance to do.
