We regularly climb to Timpanogos Cave for exercise and enjoyment twice a week during the cool summer mornings. An invigorating hike in the beautiful American Fork Canyon begins more than a mile above sea level, the only access to the cave system is by walking this strenuous 1 1/2-mile-paved trail, which rises 1,092 ft to an elevation of 6,730 feet above sea level.
