the green mountain state
A few of us went to Vermont for a couple days to be with family in celebration Leslie's life. The cold temperatures and snow covered landscapes were a stark contrast to the charming city where she lived. Alicia and Kyle were super hosts, and we were able to recognize and celebrate Leslie's life together.
We stayed at the Capitol Plaza on historic State Street in Vermont’s capital city of Montpelier. The Bashara family has owned this historic property since 1994 making constant improvements to the benefit of our travelers. Alicia, Kyle, and family introduced us to the spectacular views of Vermont. No wonder Leslie loved living in Montpelier so much. Lots of beautiful hikes and snowshoeing in Vermont without ever really leaving your backyard. |

We live our lives sometimes complicated by things like work, relationships, by pressures we put on ourselves. In the landscapes of Vermont, I believe there is a lesson for us. God's creations sing, and if you listen you'll hear it in the trees, the water, and the sky. We listened, and in just a few days we fell in love with Vermont and learned sometimes it's the simple things that provide the greatest value.
Our connection with Leslie lives on, and this week we got to see why she loved living near Alicia |
In our correspondence, Leslie shared that she really liked living in Vermont. She enjoyed having her own place that Alicia found for her in the very beautiful countryside. She mentioned the autumn leaves were so pretty. Leslie reminded me that she often felt Mom and Dad's blessings and help. She expressed gratitude for the love and concern and blessings of the Savior. Good to be with family to celebrate Leslie's life and learn more about the her joys in her final days. She too will watch over and bless and help us in our lives. It was fun being in touch with family. We love you Leslie. See you soon.
