1/01/2015 day 8 in Cancun - Thursday I watched the sun rise. We had breakfast. Now we are on our way to the city center and on to Playa del Carmen on the R2 bus. We have Gma and the wheelchair. We had a little hiccup when we arrived at the bus stop. Some workers tried to sell us a package to Isla de Murelos with snorkeling and lunch. They said Playa del Carmen was only good for nightlife and tried to persuade us to go elsewhere. We almost decided to stay in Cancun. Thanks to Nick and Camilla, we decided to do playa. We got on a bus, paid the driver, then switched buses because the cooling was not working. We are finally on our way to Playa del Carmen. Once we arrived at Playa del Carmen, we watched a show where men swing from a tall pole with ropes. We split into two groups and headed to lunch. We found s nice little place that served us well, and we got fajitas, ravioli, hamburger, chicken with all the fixings. Great hot sauce. Then we shopped at various stores. Gma bought a ring and mom got some shirts for various people. We are now on the bus headed back to the city center in Cancun. Then one more bus to home. Back at the villa, we heated the soup that Doris made for us. Delicious. The national championship for college football was to be played. We followed it on our iPads. Ohio state trailed Alabama for most the game while I followed it. Ohio ended up winning, however.

1/02/2015 day 9 in Cancun - Friday
Got up early. Watching the waves on the beach and feeling the wind. Carly and Steven beat me to the back patio. Amy came out right behind me. Watching the sun rise. Beautiful. I could do this every day of my life. Today was a relaxing day, and take it easy. We rested from our rigorous schedule. A bunch of us, pretty much all of us I think, enjoyed the waves and swimming in the ocean. Some swam in the pool then after lunch, we played scum and watched a movie. Steven and Carly went out to eat together. We talked about Doris' tip and now we are headed to bed. I got my blog post completed and Nick helped me get my photos uploaded. Steven and Carly just got home. Photo album http://mathewstucki.blogspot.mx/2015/01/cherished-memories.html church Island Chichen-Itza temple Hot chocolate - ? Essentially, today is the last planned day of our vacation: kind of hard to believe. I am on the back porch area watching the sun rise. Linda and Amy are standing out on the beach visiting. The waves are large and crashing against the shore. I wrote a letter toTerri thanking her for the opportunity to rent her villa. This has been the experience of a lifetime. We got to pay Doris yesterday for her service. I spoke with the family about how they would like to do that. Since Steven is the only one that speaks fluent Spanish, I suppose he did most of it. I ran down to another hotel to get more money for massages and Doris tip. Mom and dad $ ### * Gma ### Camilla ### * Steven ## Amy ## Alyssa ## * ------ $ ### Massages ### Elota - corn on the cob with mayonnaise, cheese, chile, lime We played UNO: Cam, Nick, Carly, Steven, Gma, Melanie, and me. Card games seem to be the fad lately. I personally think It has been a lot of fun. The family decided to go out for dinner last night. We went to La Isla which is a pretty high end shopping spot with restaurants. We stopped and watched a dolphin show. Then we went to eat. We initially planned to eat Thai food, but the menu was a little pricey. So we ended up eating at Johnny Rockets, then we went gift shopping for souvenirs. We got some get keepsakes including blankets, bowls, and hot sauce. On the way home Steven got sick, so he a Carly took a taxi. The bus we took had a lady playing a sax, very well. When we got back to the villa, watched a chick flick, and then headed to bed. |
