Christmas in cancun

Perhaps this was my favorite vacation ever. It was definitely the most     unforgettable Christmas in recent memory for all the right reasons.

This all started more than a year ago when we asked our children what they would like to do for the following Christmas. "Wouldn't you like to travel?" We had asked this question before, but the response had always been something about we want to do Christmas at home with family and continue the traditions that have become so important for our family each Christmas, things like the Nazarene dinner, Christmas story, family gifts, and other traditions we hold dear. But last year the response was in the affirmative; they wanted to try something new.
So I went to work looking for something that would be fun and memorable. We discussed lots of ideas: San Diego, Park City, or somewhere out of the country. The general consensus was somewhere warm. Nick said "I want to be somewhere in my flip-flops on Christmas morning." So we started looking in earnest, and we found lots of options. We actually setup a family website for this purpose: stucki.efamily.com. It did help us share the various possibilities and narrow down our options, until we decided on Cancun.

The requirements were stringent and getaway expectations were high, but we set out to find the Christmas vacation of a lifetime, and we did. Solymar Villa 8 turned out to have everything we hoped for and more. But we kept looking. Luckily, we started our search with plenty of time to look. Even then, destinations were beginning to fill up quickly.

Warm, convenient, memorable, and affordable. This selection had to suit everyone and provide a fun and exciting alternative to a stateside option. We searched high and low to find the very best choice possible.

We continued looking at private villas for rent and found a few that looked promising. There was one destination that looked really great and every review awarded it the highest score possible. So we decided on Solymar Villa 8. How to get there.

It was perfect and turned out to be everything it said it was and more.
