father

Today is not Fathers Day. By that I mean the national holiday wherein we celebrate fathers all around the world. But we needn't wait for a holiday to recognize fathers and their important role in our lives. We have reason enough to honor them every day of our lives. Every day of our lives.
Frequently, we wait for a holiday to celebrate Fathers and recognize their contribution in our lives. And rightfully so, our fathers should be recognized. Often they are our heros which we gladly remember. I know that I do. My dad speaks of his father with adoration. I already see the seeds of admiration, respect, and love in the eyes of my grandsons when the look at their fathers and celebrate  with them. It is good and right and natural when we remember and honor them. They have a tough job in this chaotic world that we live in today. Fathers protect, love, and help us overcome and make sense of the challenges that we face.
We choose to let them influence our lives for good. And hopefully, your father is the protector of what is good and right in your family. He brings home the bacon and provides for the family. The sustenance he offers is essential, but his important work also includes protecting his wife and family from the chaos so prevalent in this world. Perhaps his most important role is that he protects his wife and children from harm and shows them the way back to his safety. And this is exactly what our Heavenly Father does for us if we will let him. He will lead us safely home if we let him, but it is up to us to choose him again.
Perhaps these sentiments started when I watch a new video about fathers on the website of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It speaks to me because I have an earthly  father that I try and emulate every day. I also have a Heavenly Father and because of the Savior Jesus Christ lives, I can know, love, and gratefully follow in the footsteps of my Heavenly Father as well. He too followed His Father.
He is still performing miracles, and that will never cease, at least not until we are all safely back with him. Nothing could keep us from choosing Jesus. And now we're honored to prove that we’ll be faithful... Every day of our lives.

All celebrate contributions of fathers. Yet fathers are just grateful for the chance.
