zone conference

​​This week we had zone conference and it was so awesome! It was so spiritual and fun. It was so good to see other missionaries and to see President Pickerd again. Sorella Pickerd still isn't traveling around to the zones farther away from Roma because she is still finishing chemo therapy.

This past Sunday was really cool because I got to take part in a musical number in church. There was me playing piano and singing, a man playing the violin, and a women singing. We did that arrangement of Silent night that I sang at my farewell. I love that arrangement so much! We did it all in English too. Haha the women singing doesn't speak English but she's like a pro opera voice major and is obsessed with apparently some version of Silent Night that Celine Dion. Haha needless to say, with only a few pronunciation tips like saying "virgin" with a hard "G" sound instead of like "J" sound, or saying "Heavan" instead of "Hayven." Haha That women really has such a beautiful voice!! The performance was so beautiful! There were so many people crying afterward. And the thkng In just keep thinking is, it was all in English! The spirit is real. That hymn is for sure my favorite Christmas song. Not to mention that women is not a member. She usually just comes to church because she likes to play the piano. We hope with time her heart will open to take the lessons.

Zone calcio in Catania today.

Catania Zone

So remember that picture of the boiled pig meat last week? Well, this week they got it for us again and they actually took us to the place to go get it with them. This is the pot they boil it in and apparently they actually boil it for like 11 or 12 hours. In the pot there is a bunch of different types of pig meat and so you go up and order what you want and then the guy finds it and dishes it out with that big paddle spoon thing.

It's been probably over a year since I have had this!

Catania is such a beautiful city! I wish I would have been able to get more pictures but we were in a rush to get the bus and boat so we could back to the mainland. ;) This is a really pretty park that we were walking through. You can't see it very well in the picutre and my tablet camera doesn't capture it at all, but it was so gorgeous!

Colleghi

This was probably my favorite zone conference of my mission, mostly because of this. I was an innkeeper. We basically acted out the nativity while a narrator read the exerts from the bible and we said random little lines. Then we would sing hymns in between parts. It was so much like our nativity program that we do when we go Christmas caroling. Y'all just need to start doing it with costumes. ;) They told us to just use what we found in our house...pretty much everyone came in wearing bed sheets... haha
