Our efforts to minister to those affected by suicide will be most effective when we more fully understand the doctrine and teachings of hope and eternal life. The wonderful gift of peace and comfort is possible even in the midst of tragedy and pain.

The gospel changes everything. It provides hope when nothing else can. When there is no other way, Jesus Christ enables the hopeless to turn life around. Self-destruction is not the answer. What can we do? Ask the friendless 'How can I help?'

The pain is real. Hardships are overwhelming and embarrassing. Like a bad dream, we think it will never end. We don't want to be alone. Hope is real, too. Understanding, love, and peace is right around the corner. It will be alright. You are not alone.

For the fruit of the gospel of Jesus Christ to blossom and bless our lives, we must be firmly attached to him. He heals every man that steadfastly comes unto him and invites everyone to be comforted, so he can ease their sufferings and offer peace.
