Climbing Mount TImpanogos

The Ascent - Members of the Stucki party started the climb around 6:30 this morning. Donning ear-to-ear smiles, hiking boots and back packs filled with water, snacks, and other essentials, the team turned its focus to conquering the 11,752-ft summit, including 5,270 feet of topographic prominence. The mountain towers over Utah Valley and has become one of its most endearing features. 

Emily, Melanie, Caitlin, Alyssa, Jerimiah, and Linda made up the team of explorers this go around. They are already nearing the saddle, one more push to the grandiose view. Although it is a 14-mile round-trip hike, with almost a mile of elevation gain, Timp's summit is one of the most-visited in the Rocky Mountains.
