We have all heard about and read of the terrible fires occurring in Southern California recently. They have burned for months and continue to destroy homes, businesses, and livelihoods as of this writing. But it wasn't until moments ago that we learned these fires have really hit home.
When I arrived at the house after work today, Mom asked if I had heard about the fires in Ventura. These infernos are destroying homes and lives in many communities. She said her friend Diane was forced to evacuate from a nearby neighborhood close to where your mother lived in Ventura. So we got online and began investigating the impact. What we found was tragic and heartbreaking. We learned that Foothill Boulevard was hit hard. That is the same road that led to Colina Vista where Elaine's home was. We started reading everything we could to see the breadth of destruction. To our horror, it looks like every home on Colina Vista may be gone. Another friend who had lived on that street formerly said that their former house had burned. Sadness and heartbreak are everywhere. Many areas all over Ventura have been destroyed. The links above and videos below are what we know currently as of 11PM.

Pray for all these people who have lost everything. They are Gma's neighbors.
