WEDNESDAY 3/2/22 Saint Augustine, FL
We spent our first night in the van! To be honest it was a little rough. Not the sleeping part, just the setting up. After driving for so long and so far and arriving at the KOA so late at night , we all wanted to sleep sooner than we were able to set things up. The kids were hyper and then crashed and Nick and I were stressed about the noise. We did our best, tucked everyone in and all fell asleep until 8:30 am this morning. I have a feeling we will be a well oiled machine soon enough! Now that we are here (Florida) we will be able to settle into a more predictable schedule and we can re-establish a consistent bedtime too! Everything was really great as far as the function of the van. The fan, vents, bed set up, goal zero, etc., all worked really well.
We took the morning and afternoon to reset. Ozzy and Fitz rode their bikes and played in the sand while Nick and I organized and reconfigured a few things in the van. We boiled some water (for dishes) and made eggs and toast for breakfast. I took Ozzy to the pool to swim (with Enzo) while
Fitz napped. Nick stayed back with Fitz to get some work done. Ozzy, Enzo, and I came back to put Enzo down for a nap and while he and Fitz napped, Ozzy and I did some pages out of his workbook. We ended up not leaving the campground at all. Everyone was content and it was nice to slow down for a day. We needed the reset. I did laundry, we had spaghetti and salad for dinner. The kids had showers before bed and they were all asleep by 8:00. Nick and I finished dishes, cleaned up camp, had showers of our own, and we’re in bed by 9:45 pm. We’re planning on a beach day tomorrow!

We set off on a 31-day, 7,000-mile journey east and around the Florida Keys. We are mostly seeing the world.
