This week was weird we had zone conference Tuesday, biked Wednesday and Thursday, then my comp got sick Friday so I stayed inside all day reading and sleeping and stuff. Then Saturday we did service and went to the North Elders baptism. Sunday was cool it was ward conference and the whole time we talked about the atonement and how we can get strength from it and what it is. Super cool and last night was a mission presidents fireside and it was awesome! Some converts spoke and President it was very spiritual. So not a lot of time this week but I love you all and here are some pics!

Hey family and friends how are y'all doing? This week was pretty nuts we had a couple crazy days.
Thursday we had the weirdest lesson with a member ever. We met in a super nice Marriott business room and we tried to teach him a lesson but instead he just talked to himself and told stories to himself the entire time. And now he won't stop calling us, black Houstonians are NUTS. Then later that night we got a call from a random number which was crazy. It was a girl talking to us named Ellie who said she had just finished reading the Book of Mormon and she had been shot 3 months ago at a party with her fraternity and they guy who saved her is a rugby player for BYU and introduced her to the church and they are dating and so she is investigating the church! But she then just hung up before we could get her address and so now we don't know where to go to find her. But yeah crazy day. Friday we did some emergency exchanges because one of the North Elders was super sick and they had like 7 lessons scheduled and we had 0 lessons so we just helped them out the whole day it was awesome. Saturday was awesome Jose got baptised! He was so ready and he's going to be an awesome new convert. I spoke about the Gift of the Holy Ghost at his baptism which went well. Sunday we had 6 people at church! The Hendrickson family came and some other investigators. I sat by one of the twin daughters and she slept on my shoulder and told me she was so happy to be at church it was super cute. That's about it everyone love you all! Elder Robison Hello family and friends. So let me just start by saying that God is good, and he knows what's up. I've been asking him for a family to teach and he delivered. We've been working with this nice part member family named the Hendricksons and they have 3 kids who want to be baptised! They are awesome, I love them, it's gonna be a hard to keep teaching them because their dad works sooo much but it's gonna happen.
Alright and this Saturday Jose is going to get baptised! He is married to a member and she has been trying to get him dunked for a long time and he's finally ready and wants to be baptised this Saturday! So that's going to be awesome. Did you guys know that the average weight gain here in T.H.E. Mission is 40 pounds? Fun fact huh... I don't have a scale so I'm not sure how much I've gained but not that much yet haha. I had an enlightenment the other day. While we were in a lesson with Jose, his mother in law showed up and started complaining and whining about how much she hates Utah and how everyone's a square there. That made me kind of mad because I've never loved Utah as much as I do now and there are a lot of "squares" there, but I realised something. Heaven is full of squares. Growing up I never wanted to be a square, or a goodie goodie, but I realised that being a square is a good thing. It's just doing what's right even if it's not the popular thing to do. So that's my thought for the day. Heaven is full of squares. I love you all and I'm doing good out here. Have a good week! Elder Robison Well everybody guess what year it is? Its 20 flipping 18. You know i could swear 2012 was just a few months ago. But nope, that was 6 years ago. I've been thinking back about how far I've come over the last couple years ago. But the only constant thing in this life is change so just accept it! I'm pumped for 2018, it's gonna be awesome, by the time 2019 rolls around these wards here in Houston are gonna be bumpin I'm gonna be bumpin it's all gonna be bumpin. But I guess we take things one week at a time here on the mission so here's what we did last week.
LOTS of knocking doors and calling people and just proselyting all over the place. Oh man and I peed outside for the first time in like 4 months it was glorious. But that's not important. We have found a really nice family with a ton of potential! I've been praying for a family we could share the gospel with and we've got one! The dad has been less active since the beginning of the church, his wife has been trying to get him to go to a church, and his 3 kids are all curious about God and Jesus so they are just ridiculously prepared for us. Their kids are so cute we just watch children's bible videos with them and explain more about those topics and they love it! They asked their dad when they could get baptised and so he asked us and we told them if they start coming to church this next week then in 3 weeks they can get dunked. I'm pumped. Oh and this guy named Jose Polina is gonna get baptised on the 20th he was also really really prepared and is extremely committed to the gospel. He's awesome and him and his wife are going to be a power couple in this ward. They need it! Well I love you guys and am grateful for all of the prayers and presents and emails! I love you all and hope you habe a wonderful 2018! Elder Robison Sorry I've only got one pic this week, and yes thats a kumquat tree and no these ones weren't very tasty. But my new rain jacket is super nice! Hey everybody!! Sorry I haven't emailed in like 2 weeks I'm not sure how that happened but it's all good! Here we are
Alright so December was pretty good. The holidays made me a little homesick but it's cold here now so it feels more like home! Today the high is 38 and everyone is freaking out, we had a "cold weather notice" taped to our door haha it's funny. We have been doing a lot of finding recently because we have nobody to teach. And we have 2 people now who we are pretty confident about but they didn't come to church so that blows. We taught 3rd hour for this 5th Sunday which was kind of nerve racking but it went well. Oh man we went to Kelly's Country Cooking after district meeting and my companion ate a whole 16 oz hamburger and fries. And i ate the biggest baked potato youve ever seen. It was ridiculously good. And then the best part is when the waitress brought us the bill someone had paid for it and said "God bless you Elders." People are the best. :) Thank you for all of the Christmas presents and the letters and stuff! I have a ton of candy to eat and I'm gonna get nice and fat. I've got a new scripture I really like for a couple reasons but it's in 2 Nephi 33:3 "But I, Nephi, have written what I have written, and I esteem it as of great worth, and especially unto my people. For I pray continually for them by day, and mine eyes water my pillow by night, because of them; and I cry unto my God in faith, and I know that he will hear my cry" That hit me for a couple reasons, the first is that Nephi had a pillow, I mean they were treking through the desert and they have to carry everything they own with them and he brought a pillow. Me and Nephi would get along. And then the more important part that hit me was he cared so much about his lost brethren that he literally cried himself to sleep every night praying for them. So I ask you all if you care enough for those around us who have fallen away, do you love them so much that you are praying for them every night? I love you all and am excited for 2018 it's going to be a good year! Elder Robison |
