Man... I don't think a lot of you understand the amount of joy that comes from doing the Lord's work every day. It's the greatest feeling to look back at a week well spent in service and have the spirit testify to you that this is His work. Oh how great is our calling! I say our because every member a missionary 😏 I have a testimony of D&C 18:15-16, there is more joy found in serving God than in any other work. It's a small taste of the fulness of joy that our Heavenly Father experiences as he "brings to pass the immortality and eternal life of" his posterity. I'm so grateful for the blessing it is to be able to be a tool in His hand to accomplish his work. If your having a hard time finding happiness in life, live and share the gospel. "and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren." You are your first convert, so get converted, and share it with everyone. 😊 Alright there is my shpeal for the day The highlights of this week are as follows: 1) We got to blitz Port Arthur for 2 days and be on changes with those homies down there. Port Arthur is for the most part pretty ghetto. It's got a lot of homeless people and the downtown city is completely abandoned and rundown. So it was fun to be back in the streets and preach to our less fortunate bruddas. 2) Ive realized I must have some SWEET blood because these skeeters down here sure do love me. Hopefully I don't get Zika or something but man, if anyones got any tips or tricks on how not to be a 24 hour mosquito buffet than please let me know. 😩 3)Friday we got to go the temple and do baptisms for the dead with a returning member named Hans DeWitt and our recent convert Patrick Perera! It was so good, Patrick got baptized for his father and his grandpa and he felt really happy afterwards. He was also able to bless the sacrament for the first time this week which was legit. He only had to do it twice, even though he's not a very good reader. He's progressing so much in the gospel its ridiculous. The Lord knows exactly what he's doing. 4) To finish off the week we were able to go back to Silsbilly (Silsbee+hillbilly=Silsbilly) and I was able to perform the baptism for Sadie Musten! 😁After being found and taught for 4 months or so she finally was baptized a member this last Saturday and confirmed the day after. She is such a sweet girl, I hope she stays with it. Well everyone those are the highlights of the week. Miss you all and hope no one's house burns down back home Elder Robison

This was a pretty jam packed week, we had MLT, District Training, and exchanges.
Monday night we loaded up the DL's in the mini van and headed for Kingwood. We stopped at Buccees, which is the biggest gas station youve ever seen. its probably got 70 or 80 gas pumps and the bathrooms are ginormous. its definitely a Texas sized gas station. I love the south MLT on Tuesday was pretty good, nothing too crazy happened. President Hewlett talked about the significance of the first vision and how the world just going to get worse and more nasty before the second coming. Its kind of scary how the work is hastening and the "great and terrible day of the Lord" is coming closer. We talked a lot about the new book the Saints. We talked about the previous history of the churches by Joseph Smith and B. H. Roberts and the significance that they are releasing another one in narrative form. The book is very good and captivating i would encourage all of you to start reading it if you haven't yet. I think its only 5 bucks on the LDS store so thats definitely worth it. Its also on the gospel library app. Ive learned a ton about church history. Im excited to have people try and confound me so i can expound the scriptures unto them and bring them to the knowledge of the truth. :) District Training was fun we got to go from Beaumont to Woodville in one day and see the whole zone :) its a good time, kinda stressful but a good time. I went on exchanges to Woodville and trio'd it up with Elder Mickelson and Elder Olsen! We went to this really pretty lake with a little community around it called Ivanhoe. i wish i would have taken a picture but i forgot. it reminded me of Rockport just not in a mountain. :( I spoke in the YSA this week and i was the closing speaker. It only ended up needing to be about 10 minutes long so i just free balled it. My brain shuts off as soon as i get up to the pulpit, i couldnt even remember where the BoM talked about the Fall of Adam and Eve :( its 2Nephi 2 by the way. I want to be a much better speaker than i am. Every week gets faster and faster and this next one is not going to be any exception. The mission is flying by, but i love it :) Love you all! Have a good week Elder Robison What a marvelous week and a wonder, we ate some dang good food, made someone a candidate for the celestial kingdom, and had zone conference.
We will start at the baptism Here is the story of Patrick Perera: once upon a time there were some sister missionaries in the town of Lumberton Texas. They knocked on his door one day and he let them in. Over the next couple of weeks they taught Patrick all about the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. He loved it, and wanted to be baptized. Around this time the sisters faithful District Leader (me) realized Patrick was young, single, and an adult. So I made the sisters refer dear Patrick to the Beaumont YSA elders and they proceeded to teach Patrick the gospel. It took awhile. But eventually Patrick was put on date to be baptized. Meanwhile there was a transfer in the mission and I moved to the Beaumont YSA with Elder Abbot. 3 weeks passed and we continued to fellowship him and teach him the gospel and then on September 1st,he was baptized into the church. We are taking him to the temple on the 14th so thats gonna be sick 🤘 To celebrate for Patricks baptism we went out to this super good place called Tia Juanita's and had grilled shrimp quesadillas, super good. Then later in the day, I used my electrician skills and fixed this members light. So he bought us dinner at Logans Roadhouse 😛 I love food in Texas ☺️ And we had zone conference! Our segment we did was actually really good. We are helping the zone build better member relations and so we gave them a bunch of ideas. Well I gotta go but I love you all and hope you all have a great week! Elder Robison |
