Instructions Before Leaving Earth Well how is everyone doing!? Thanks to those who emailed me this week (Sammy, Mom, and Dad ) haha sounds like the sun is still shining in Utah. I wish it didn't shine quite so bright down here in Tejas but that's okay. I need to sweat a bunch to try and work off all of this delicious food we eat everyday. Fried fish is one of my new favorite foods. Fish , coleslaw, Tarter sauce mixed with ketchup and Slap Yo Mamma™ seasoning, and Texas Toast. Yummy Well this week has been pretty sick! Not sick like but like We have been finding a bunch of people to teach and have been teaching like 3 or 4 lessons everyday so that's been really good. We thought we had a bunch of solid people who were going to come to church this week but only one of them came. So that was sad. But we are still inviting and they will come eventually. Here are some highlights of the week: » For District Training we anointed our eyes with mud (like Moses and Enoch) and washed it out so we could see through the things holding us back from being excellent missionaries. And we also learned about Shekinah. Cool stuff look it up 🕎 in the BD » I went on another exchange with Elder Olsen and we power washed a trailer and wrestled some goats. We did a bunch of farm work as well. We moved a chicken coupe and caught all of the chickens to put them back in. Catching chickens is just as hard as you think it is but it was a ton of fun. Also I found a cow skull that was pretty gnarly. » I gave a mini talk at this ward missionary coordination meeting. The Bishopric and a representative from each auxillary was there as well as the ward missionaries. We talked about some goals and things that we need to be doing better at. Throughout my mission I have only received one legitimate member referral, just 1. That's pretty ridiculous. And I ask everyone for referrals, like literally everyone. "A great indicator of one’s personal conversion is the desire to share the gospel with others. For this reason the Lord gave an obligation to every member of the Church to be missionaries” (The Teachings of Howard W. Hunter) There really aren't any excuses for not sharing the gospel. Excuses are just lies from the adversary. Satan would have you and me believe that we cannot succeed in sharing the gospel. He lies to us. In fact, he is the father of all lies. Do not listen to him. Listen to the prompting of the Holy Ghost, and then act in faith in sharing the gospel. -President M. Russell Ballard So if you haven't been sharing the gospel here are some things I would suggest you start doing: 1. Pray for the opportunity to share the restored gospel with someone 2. Carry a Book of Mormon or a family proclamation to the world card or some form of literature with you always. When the Lord sees that your ready he will give you the chance to try it. 3. Talk to everyone, being introverted and shy is definitely a hard obstacle to overcome, but it is an obstacle that needs to be overcome. Pray for strength 4. Prayerfully set a date by which time you WILL have someone prepared to meet with the missionaries. As you work toward that goal and become desperate to reach it, you will be given the opportunity to do so. » I found a new favorite Hymn! It's no. 230 Scatter Sunshine In a world where sorrow Ever will be known, Where are found the needy And the sad and lone, How much joy and comfort You can all bestow, If you scatter sunshine Ev’rywhere you go. [Chorus] Scatter sunshine all along your way. Cheer and bless and brighten Ev’ry passing day. Scatter sunshine all along your way. Cheer and bless and brighten Ev’ry passing day 2. Slightest actions often Meet the sorest needs, For the world wants daily Little kindly deeds. Oh, what care and sorrow You may help remove, With your songs and courage, Sympathy and love. 3. When the days are gloomy, Sing some happy song; Meet the world’s repining With a courage strong. Go with faith undaunted Thru the ills of life; Scatter smiles and sunshine O’er its toil and strife. Don't worry, be happy Elder Robison
