Hey everybody it's crazy to think that is the last week of my first transfer but it's here! Now only 16 transfers to go haha 😂 the work here is good we have been focusing on reactivating members because there are so many innactives here. We had some cool experiences this last week but the spiritual highlight was meeting Donald L. Hallstrom of the 70 and getting to talk with him in a personal setting.
We talked all about being children of God, and being converted to the gospel THROUGH his church, and turning to the Lord it was really good. If you haven't felt spiritually uplifted in awhile watch those talks and you will feel the spirit. I've kind of always wondered what the point of church is, besides taking the sacrament, but we have 3 or more hours of church every week because we can't stand strong without it. It can be such a spiritually uplifting and motivating experience if we just go willingly and happily. Talking with all of these inactive families you start to notice a pattern. They've all stopped reading their scriptures and praying and in turn they lose the spirit and forget what it's like to have it with them. Its sad to see these people who used to be strong in the church forget their own testimonies and forget why we go to church in the first place. So I hope you all continue to go to church while I'm gone or else I will find you, and I will reactivate you. We stopped by this old investigators apartment this week to see if he even existed and he opened the door and let us in. We sat down with him and there was some loose change and a pocket knife on the table and the guy was limping to sit back down. He told us he had some mental issues and couldn't take care of himself anymore and he was just now building up the courage to do something terrible. As we talked to him more his face slowly brightened and you could see the hope that this gospel can bring to people's lives. Christ died for us so that we can LIVE in him. This really is the church the Lord has established on the earth for us to come closer to him so that we can be lifted up at the last day. Love you all! Elder Robison P.S. I don't have any pictures for you this week because I got a hair cut and wow it's short. I feel like I joined the army or something.
