Hey everyone,
This week was so packed and so fun. We have been truly blessed recently and its just a good feeling. Its crazy to see a physical change in the people as they progress and come closer to Jesus Christ. We have 4 people right now with dates to be baptized soon and a few more dates to try and get this week. The Lord is blessing us. Last week I lost the phone on this bike ride and i looked everywhere but couldn't find it and then i look around and it was somehow in the basket of my bike. I couldn't believe it because me and my comp looked in it already and it wasnt there. tender mercy. The comp is doing good. Doesnt seemed to fazed about just coming to Korea but its been fun to teach him the culture and show him around. I love you all Elder hunsaker

Hey everyone. Life is great. My new comp is from america and its been fun showing him the culture of Korea and all the people we are meeting with. He is doing great. Also got two new elders in the house and one is korean and the other american. The korean elder is crazy smart and gives me a hard time about everything but we are buds. The american is cool. we are really similar. The miracles are pouring in found a fam and 3 new people this week and got a baptismal date. loving life. Peace and love
Elder Hunsaker How great it is that we have a modern day Prophet and apostles to lead and guide us. This week end we were able to watch conference and it was amazing. I kinda just awed at the words of our great leaders. Until I became a missionary i thought everyone had some kind of prophet in there church but the more people i meet the more people criticizes us for having a modern day prophet but then i tell them his name and who he is and all the benefits of a Prophet and they kinda change there mind a few times people have told me they are jealous haha. They are the most trusted of Gods servants and its because of the ways during their lives they have acted in the Faith of Jesus Christ.
This week was fun. It was a national holiday and so we got to see a lot of the traditional side of Koreans. They have old traditional clothes called Hanbok and many of them wear it on the holidays and yeah its just cool to see haha. also Last night we met a man who was trying to find our church to introduce to his family and kids. It was a complete miracle we met him because we had not planned to take our path that led to meet him at all but the Lord really guided both of us to each other. He had so many questions and seems like a really great man. love you all. Have a good week. Elder Hunsaker Last few weeks have been good. Lots of new people that we have been meeting and it feels good. Something about teaching someone the restored gospel is just amazing (probs the spirit). But a few weeks ago a less active had a crazy freak out on a member and so i had to handle the situation and calm him down and he was freaking out at me and said so many terrible things that we didnt contact him in a few weeks but after 2 years of being less active he showed up to church with tears in his eyes and met with me and the bishop and said he was sorry and how he has never felt this way about a bad decision and it was just so obvious the atonement of Christ was working in his life after a big event to change his heart. This gospel is so cool. The atonement is here for all people, no matter what we all have access to its power and the grace of God.
This week seoul is like a ghost town. 10 million people left to their hometown for the holidays and so its gonna be hard to do the work but we have some fun things planned as a mission so im excited. Also next week we get to watch Conference:) so ready for it. Love you all Elder Hunsaker This week was great. Lots of things worked out and it was pretty good. Although it did seem like a week of everyone telling me their bad opinions of the church but thats like going up to walt disney and trying to tell him Disney is dumb haha. It really made me think about this church on a deeper level. More than just a members view of the church. Lets just pretend some one created a game plan to live a happy life and stay out of trouble and have a happy family and teach them to be healthy and to have a happy life and guess what? you guessed it im just talking about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Lets just say I am wrong. This church isnt true somehow the Book of Mormon is fake and the 16 million people that have felt the truth of the Book of Mormon are all wrong, somehow we just messed up and its all not true. Then you look back at the age on 90 and you think a dash of regret will arise because you followed Gods plan and was healthy and had a happy family and focused on Gods perspective of you more than that one random person in your ward that seems to judge you like crazy but you know its not the people that define Gods church its you who defines Gods church. Its not here to make us feel judged by other members or put religious competition in the lives of people. Sadly its like that in lots of places in the church but thats the people not Gods plan Thats not God and its not his fault hes got to work with a bunch of imperfect people to run his church. Its true and i have been giving everything the last year to it. Its changed my life. The world is hard and its not the person who left the churchs fault for leaving. Its a hard world. Dont beat yourself up at the first mistake. Thats why we have the atonement. Its a circle of trial and error not a straight line to perfection. Be a rock Be strong Be smart. And dont you dare forget those moments where you felt the spirit. I love you all. I pray for you. Keep going and hold fast to the foundation you are building. If its weak hold on to mine. I promise the storms pass and the good times come, God will not forsake us after all we can do.
Love elder Hunsaker This week has been good. I am in a new area and a new comp and new district and new everything. I can already tell this is going to be a good area. With different responsibilities and stuff i have had to really replace time that i spent talking or eating or other stuff (daydreaming haha) with preparing for trainings and calling people. At first i was nervous and thought i needed some of the worldly stuff to be happy and stay normal in the mission field but the more and more I give to the Savior the more i truly feel happy. Lately as a study the Plan of Salvation i realize more and more that the most important thing we can do in this life is build habits and a attitude that would feel completely comfortable in the celestial kingdom. And as we let the worldly things go and replace them with joy from the lords gifts only then we can be truly happy. love you all so much. I pray for you.
Elder Hunsaker Hey everyone.
This week went by so quick.... Last Pday after email we did the most amazing hike on earth and then had a family night with a family in the ward. But this week we found two new people that are both awesome. We had some great laughs with both of them and they seem really excited about the gospel and Book of Mormon. This week we had transfer calls and I will be moving 5 miles up the road ahaha. I am excited and a little nervous for new responsibilities but it should be fun. At church yesterday. It was hard to say goodbye to everyone. Its almost harder to leave an area then leave home when you first come on a mission but it really makes me regret all the people i didnt get close with and the things i wish i had done more to help the ward. "you dont know what you got until its gone." Dont take anything for granite and make the best out of every situation. I really got lucky to be here in Korea. Love you all! have the best week. Elder Hunsaker ps my new comp is elder boden from AF. We had math class together lol Hey everyone.
This week was great. I was able to do some traveling and go on exchanges with two other elders. They are both really good friends with me so we had some fun. With one of them we found a man and he wanted to talk so we sat down and he just layed all his trials on the table and didnt know how to be happy. He said he really was depressed and didnt feel gods help. It was a big wake up call that there are so many other people that have it worse than i do. But after talking with him for a while we shared Mosiah 24:14 with him and told him that God lifts our burdens, but not against our will, we have to try and we have to put all our effort to receive his help. We also told him to just stay busy and fill your time with meaningful things. He was so grateful and hugged us and even bought us lunch. Funny story..... We met this guy and he wanted to learn about our church so we took him to the church and as soon as we sat down he just went off on how he saw Jesus Christ and received the spirit directly from him and how we need to directly see jesus and he was yelling and it was so funny i couldn't help but smile haha. So he just keeps going and we keep trying to speak but he wont let us and then i just raise my hand straight in the air and he like bows at me and tells me to pls speak in super high form and so then I quickly told him how we can help him and why we are here and then he was quite and just left hahah I get about two of those stories a week but that one was just too funny. We also had a ward party and i was the biggest loser in our game so i had to sing for everyone so embarrassing....the end. Fun Fact Korea has all these random work out stuff everywhere and all the old people just chill around them and talk and its fun. The old people like to workout here and then tell you all about it after haha. Love you all, Elder Hunsaker This week was good. Its going a lot better and we have found a lot of really cool people this week. And have seen many miracles. Things are just falling into place. Last week at an activity a sister was stressed and asked me how i get people to talk to me ever time we do activities with people on the street. All I said was " I ask God every prayer to help me find people." and honestly i didnt really notice the people the Lord was providing until after she had said that but it really made me think about how many little miracles i am missing and take for granite. If i am honest this transfer has been maybe the hardest but after last week i started a gratitude book and its been the best. Its really helped me see the positive in everything and helps me to notice the Lords hand in missionary work. Also had our interviews last week with president. He is the greatest and helped me so much. The lord really works through him. We had a good laugh about how i thought wrestling was the hardest thing before my mission and how i thought that i had done some hard things haha but missionary work is something else. How grateful i am to have this time to be changed and molded into what the lord wants me to be. Love you all,
